Systems for the use of rainwater

Collection surfaces and pipes (collection network) are the various types of roof surfaces and building covers on which atmospheric precipitation occurs in the form of rain, as well as the set of elements used to collect rainwater precipitated on the collection surfaces, such as gutters, drains, bowls, channels and pipes that, forming a network, collect this water and channel it to the subsequent storage system.

Pretreatment (coarse filtration) consists of separating, using a rainwater filter , the largest particles and waste, which mostly come from the collection surfaces.

Storage system: usually consisting of underground or surface water tanks that store rainwater until later use.

Additional treatment (if applicable): depending on the quality of the rainwater obtained and the requirements of subsequent use or the end user of the installation, additional treatment may be necessary prior to final distribution (biocide dosage, use of ring filters, UV lamps, etc.)

Distribution and use - Installation of pumping, supply and consumption: it is the network formed by pipes, accessories and, usually also, by a pumping equipment or water pumps , responsible for pumping the water contained inside the water storage tank to the different authorized consumption points (irrigation taps for garden areas, vehicle cleaning, refilling WC toilet cisterns, clothes washing machines...)
